As of today, the Bush Tax Cuts have officially been in place for ten years. A lot has happened in the past decade. We’ve been embroiled in two wars, bombed a couple of other countries, expanded and popped a giant credit bubble, brought around a regime change in DC, turned said regime change on its heads in the subsequent midterm elections, stepped up our regulations and fell in love with the iPad. So not everything that has happened in the past 10 years can be linked to the tax cuts, but in looking at some numbers over the past 10 years, it sure makes you wonder what they would be had those tax cuts not been enacted.
We specialize in managed futures at Attain, not politics or economic policy – so this isn’t a political statement or view of whether the tax cuts worked or not. We’re just reporting the numbers.
