The past month has served as yet another good example of why to invest in futures contracts instead of ETFs. Not only have ETFs continued their streak of underperforming futures contracts, but in the case of corn, in particular, fell miserably short of returns generated by futures contracts. We still haven’t heard a good answer to our question- why invest in an ETF when you can just roll December contracts annually?
