One of the largest storms in human history ripped through the Philippines over the weekend, leaving devastation in its path. Only once the clouds cleared, did reports came in on just how bad the damage was. Reports are now saying more than 10,000 people did not survive the storm (here is an interactive map from CNN showing just some of the destruction). While no one can be certain at this point, rebuilding and recovering from such an event could take months and even years.
While it’s difficult to draw comparisons, the northeast part of the U.S. is still recovering from Hurricane Sandy, forcing the world to ponder what implications Typhoon Haiyan might bring? Our thoughts are with those in the Philippines – here are our old posts regarding Sandy:
