The annual Pinnacle awards show put on by the CME and BarclayHedge (now Backstop solutions) does as good a job as any in promoting the industry and awarding those who have stood out in the recent past for their good performance. Which is why we have been proud to sponsor the event for many years. They mix a great venue (the Four Seasons) with loads of the top people across the industry from a manager, broker, and service provider. Just imagine a wedding with all your peers instead of long-lost cousins, and the best man’s speech replaced by a paid comedian making bad jokes about Sol Waksman and being from the ‘futures,’ and you can get the gist.

We were particularly excited to attend the event last week and witness a few of the managers we work closely with earn recognition across several sectors, with Pearl Capital earning top Single Sector CTA, Pan Capital with the 5-year Best Single Sector CTA, Deep Field Capital Best Small Cap CTA, and Warrington Asset Best Option Strategy over the past 5 years.
